Ahab
Scripture text: 1 Kings 16, 17, 18, 19, 20, 21
Get a verse list by searching for 'Ahab'. with the Bible Gateway Search engine at the bottom of the page.
We can learn even from the life of a wicked person. Even though Ahab was an able warrior by expanding the borders of his kingdom further, we can learn from his faults. We must do the opposite of what he achieved in his kife.
He was married to wicked Jezebel who probably run the country of Israel in the background.
He coveted Naboth's vineyard, arranged a fair price for the vineyard but was turned down by Naboth. he became angry and sulked and Jezebel arranged Naboth's death (1 Kings 21.1).
He established idolatry, he was a patron of foreign gods (1 Kings 16.31-33; 21.26).
He lacked moral fiber and righteousness and was a weak minded person (1 Kings 21.4).
He was manipulated by his wicked wife Jezebel (1 Kings 21.7, 25).
Elijah foretold the doom of both Jezebel and Ahab (1 Kings 21.22) and Micaiah also foertold his doom 1 Kings 22.28).

Asa
Scripture text: 1 Kings 15.17-24; 2 Chronicles 15, 16
Asa was a righteous person. He pleased the Lord by following him by doing what was right and good. He removed the altars of the foreign gods and the high places. He instructed the people to follow the Lord. He fortified the cities of Judah and built up the army of Judah. With God's help, Asa defeated the Ethiopians (2 Chr 14.9-15)
He had many reforms under the guidance of the prophet Azariah, son of Oded. In his later years Asa turned away from the Lord when Baasha, king of Israel attacked Judah. He took the silver and gold from the temple and made an alliance wih King Benhadad of Syria. He trusted more in man than God. The prophet Hanani came and rebuked him. Asa became so angry that he had him put in chains. He had a crippling foot disease and in his last days trusted in his doctors than the Lord. What can we learn from Asa? He had a good start but a bad conclusion in his life because he forgot who God was and what He could do for Judah against Baasha and the armies of Israel.

Athaliah
Scripture text: 2 Kings 11; 2 Chronicles 23
She was the daughter of Ahab and Jezebel, and the wife of Jehoram, king of Judah (2 Kings 8:18). The Bible described her as evil: she walked in the ways of the house of Ahab (2 Chr. 21:6), and was called daughter of Omri (2 Kings 8:26). She took over the throne by force, when her husband and son Ahaziah died. She slew all Ahaziah's children except Joash, the youngest. Joash was rescued by Jehosheba. Athaliah was put to death in a rebellion led by Jehoiada the priest.

Scripture text: 1 Kings 17.1-2; 1 Kings 2.11; 2 Chronicles 21.12-15; Malachi 4.5-6; Matthew 11.14; 16.14; 17.3-13; 27.47-49; Luke 1.17; 4.25-26; John 1.29-25; Romans 11.2-4; James 5.17-18
In 1 Kings 17, Elijah told Ahab that it would rain for three years and he went to the brook Cherith, where he was fed by ravens.

After the brook dried up, God sent him to the widow of Zarephath. At the end of two years he met Obadiah, one of Ahab's officer and told him that he wanted to speak to Ahab. Ahab came and called him the troubler of Israel. It was then proposed by Elijah that the prophets of Baal and he met at Mount Carmel where sacrifices would be offered for the purpose of determining who was the true God in Israel. Well, at Mount Carmel, Baal lost, God won and all the prophets of Baal were killed. The drought of three years was over.

Jezebel was enraged that she threatened to kill Elijah. Elijah fled (1 Kings 19.1-13) into the wilderness where he was very discouraged. An angel took care of him, and he went to Mount Horeb where he met God in a still small voice. God showed him His glory and directed him to go to Damascus and make Hazael king over Syria and Jehu king over Israel.
In 1 Kings 21, Elijah, by the word of God, confronted Ahab, and told him because he murdered Naboth and stole his vineyard, the dogs will lick Ahab’s blood in the same way they licked Naboth’s blood. Ahab repented of the sins he committed against Naboth and humbled himself before God.
Approximately six years later, he warned Ahab and Jezebel of the violent death facing them. He also warned Ahaziah of his approaching death. He had encounters with Ahaziah's messengers and one finally begged him to spare his life.
He was succeeded by Elisha. Elijah was taken up into heaven with a chariot and horses of fire.
He was mentioned several times in the New Testament. John the Baptist was thought of Elijah which was to come.
Elijah appeared with Moses and spoke with Jesus at the Transfiguration. He and Moses will appear again in the future in Revelation 11.

Adonijah sets himself up as king, he was the rightful heir to be king of Israel (1 Kings 1.1-24). Bathsheba, his mother and Nathan intervened and told David. David made Solomon his king (v. 28-52). David gave a charge to Solomon to settle old scores 1 Kings 2. Solomon asks for wisdom when God told him that he would get whatever he wished. Solomon asked for wisdom (1 Kings 3.1-15, 2 Chronicles 1). This gift of wisdom was demonstrated in a wise ruling about a baby's life that Solomon made. Solomon had not only wisdom, but also wealth and many wives. He made preparations to build the temple (1 Kings 5, 2 Chronicles 2) and built the temple (1 Kings 6, 2 Chronicles 3), and his palace (1 Kings 7.1-12) and the temple furnishings(1 Kings 7.13-51; 2 Chronicles 4). The ark was brought to the temple, when worship and joy occured (1 Kings 8.1-61, 2 Chronicles 5-6.11), Solomon's prayer for decication (2 Chronicles 6.12-42), the temple dedicated (1 Kings 8.62-66, 2 Chronicles 7). The Lord appeared to Solomon and the Davidic covenant was confirmed. Other activities of Solomon was described (1 Kings 9.10-28, 2 Chronicles 8)).
