    Jezebel killed v. 30-37

    Ahab's family killed v. 1-17
    Ministers of Baal killed v. 18-35

    Ahab and Jezebel and their family seem to be prosperous and getting their own way. But it was their influence that turn the people of Israel away from God and toward Baal.

    Application: Sin only has a season and then God will judge that sin. The wicked think that they will get away with murder, rape, etc.. and they will never get caught but one day there will be reckoniing. We as Christians do sin and may have this mentality that we can outsmart God bur beware God is waiting for us to repent. If not then we will be punished. We, like the wicked will reap what we sowed in our lives and paid very dearly for it. In the same way, we think that we will get away with the lifestyle that we are now living but beware that sin will find us out.

    Acts 17
    Paul continues on his secon missionary journey visiting Thessalonica, Berea and Athens. Paul faced opposition in Thessalonica and Berea. In Athens, his spirit was provoked by the many false idols he saw. He found an opportunity to speak to them about the UNKNOWN GOD. This God can be known throught the person of Jesus Christ. Verse to meditate on: 28'For in him we live and move and have our being.' As some of your own poets have said, 'We are his offspring.'

    Some people were receptive to the Gospel, some were not. Each will be responsible on the Day of Judgement in how they respond to the Message. Please do not be discouraged about the response of the Gospel. It is the Spirit of God who does the work.

    Psalms 144
    Verse to meditate on:
    3 O LORD, what is man that you care for him,
    the son of man that you think of him?

    4 Man is like a breath;
    his days are like a fleeting shadow.

    What is your life? It is only fleeting like vapor. You are one minute and the next you are gone.

    Proverbs 17.27-28
    It is very important for us to know how to control our tongue. Even a fool when he keeps quiet is considered wise!
