2Kings 6
An axehead floated v.1-7;
Elisha continued to demonstrate the power he had from the Holy Spirit. He performed a miracle which defied the law of gravity. An axehead float. As we know the density of metal is heavier than water, therefore it should sink in accordance with gravity. A miracle occurs when an event, object or person functions contrary to nature. Another example is Jesus walking on the water.
In verse 8-22 Aramaens were sent to capture Elisha. Anyway, the next morning when Elisha awoke, his servant told him that the city was surrounded by Aramaens who were sent to capture him. Elisha was not afraid because he knew and understand the supernatural realm of angels who were there to protect them.
Verse to meditate on: 16 'Do not be afraid,' the prophet answered. 'Those who are with us are more than those who are with them.' 17 And Elisha prayed, "O LORD, open his eyes so he may see." Then the LORD opened the servant's eyes, and he looked and saw the hills full of horses and chariots of fire all around Elisha.
There is a supernatural world out there with angels to protect and guide us. These are servants of God and should not be worshipped.
Elisha told the men of the city to feed the Aramaens and send them home unharmed.
In verse 6.24-7.2 there was a famine in Samaria which was besieged by Ben-hadad. People were desperate that they were eating their own children! The king sent messengers to Elijah that the disaster was from the Lord why should he wait any longer. Elisha had predicted that the officer on whom the king was leaning on, would not eat when the famine was over.

In 2Kings 7.3-20 The seige was lifted against Israel.
Four lepers thought if they went to the Aramaen camp, they could find something to eat even if they were killed by the Aramaens. When they got there, they did not find anyone there. the Lord intervened by having the Aramaens thought that they were been invaded by a a great army with chariots and horse. The Aramaens fled in terror. The four lepers came back to the city and told the gatekeepers what had happened at the camp. Th king of Israel thought the Aramaens had set up a decoy to trick them. They went and found that it happened as the four lepers reported. It came true as Elisha said. The officer was trampled to death by people in the gateway, probably rushing for food.

Acts 15:36-16:15
Paul's Second Missionary Journey

Paul and Barnabas had a disagreement over John Mark. Paul did not want John Mark to return with them to the places where they went on the First Missionary Journey. John Mark had apparently deserted them in Pamphylia. God uses this disagreement for His glory. There were now two missionary teams instead of one. And Baranabas tokk John Mark under his wings. This is the person who wrote the Gospel of Mark. Paul thought John Mark was useless back then but Barnabas encouraged him! Paul said in 2 timothy 4.11 'Only Luke is with me. Get Mark and bring him with you, because he is helpful to me in my ministry.' Let us not judge people too quickly because God is not finished molding them in His image.

Verse to meditate on: Acts 15.39-40 39They had such a sharp disagreement that they parted company. Barnabas took Mark and sailed for Cyprus, 40but Paul chose Silas and left, commended by the brothers to the grace of the Lord. "
