Elisha raised the Shunammite's son to life; Elisha removed the poison from the pot v. 38-41; and the feeding of a hundred (v. 42-44). All of these action involved FAITH and obedience of the people involved in the miracles. God loves widows and there was a detail account of how Elisha came to her rescue.

2 King 5
Namaan was a commander of the army of Aram, an enemy of Israel. He had leprosy. His servant girl, an Israelite told him if he saw Elisha, he would be healed. Namaan working through diplomatic channels arranged a meeting, eventually with Elisha. Elisha told him simply to wash seven times in the Jordan and he would be healed. Namaan was angry and did not want to do this. He had expected some respect from Elisha. Namaan thought the rivers in Aram (Syria) was better. After being persauded by hus servants, he humbled himself and did as Elisha told him, and Naaman was healed of leprosy. Namaan tried to give Elisha a gift but he refused and said that he was a servant of God. Elisha's servant, Gehazi chased after Namaan and asked him for silver, because of the lie and his greed, he got leprosy.

Acts 15.1-35
This was the first church council ever. The question was whether the church should accept the Gentile believers. Some Jewish believers were saying that Gentile believers had to be circumcised to be saved and obey the law of Moses. This was a very pressing issue. Peter presented a case that God had called the Gentiles into the Kingdom of God. Paul and Barnabas told how God did mirculous signs and wonders through the Gentiles. Paul in the book of Galatians, had an eloquent argument that one cannot be saved by circumcision, or holding to Jewish laws.

Verse to meditate on: Acts 15.19-20 19"It is my judgment, therefore, that we should not make it difficult for the Gentiles who are turning to God. 20Instead we should write to them, telling them to abstain from food polluted by idols, from sexual immorality, from the meat of strangled animals and from blood."
The letter that the Apostles wrote was essentially what was said in verse 19-20. We are saved by GRACE not by WORKS or TRADITION. We are not saved by good works but we are saved to do good works (Ephesians 2.8-10)!! This applies today as well! We are saved by faith in Jesus Christ not by the traditions or heritage of the church ot he good things that we do.
