1 Kings 22.1-28; 2Chronicles 18.1-27 Ahab, king of Israel, and Jehoshaphat, king of Judah met as allies against the king of Aram. Jehoshaphat wanted the counsel of God and asked Ahab if there was a prophet in Israel, so that they could seek the counsel of the Lord whether they should go to war against Romoth-gilead. Ahab had his prophets but they did not have the Spirit of God within them. Jehoshaphat sensing this, asked if there was another prophet present. Ahab said that there was the prophet Micaiah but he never prophesied any good (in Ahab's favor). Jehoshaphat requested Micaiah and he answered opposite to what the lying prophets told Ahab and Jehoshaphat. The truth was the Lord did not give Ramoth-Gilead.in the hands of Ahab and Jehoshaphat. Micaiah was put in prison for speaking the truth. How many of us would stand up for the truth and pay the consequences?Ahab was killed by a random arrow, at Ramoth-Gilead (1Kings 22.29-36; 2Chronicles 18.28-34) even though he disguised himself. Ahab's blood was licked up by dogs as the Lord had declared in 1Kings 21.19.
Jehoshaphat was the king of Judah 1 Kings 22:41-50; 2 Chronicles 20:31-21:1; 2 Chronicles 17-21:3 during the reign of Ahab. He was a good king although he associated with Ahab. He walked in the ways of Asa, his father and did right in the eyes of the Lord. He did not, however, remove the high places and the people offered sacrifices and burnt offerings there.
Ahaziah was the king of Israel (1Kings 22.51-53). He was the son of Ahab and did evil in the eyes of the Lord. He had Ahab and Jezebel as two perfect evil examples to follow.

This is the First Missionary Journey (acts 13.4-14.28). Let us notice that Paul and Barnabas were set apart to do the work.Paul's First Missionary Journey
In Pisidian Antioch. (v. 13-52), Paul took the opportunity to speak at the local synagogue. He started off speaking about how God had acted in the Old Testament and how the Messiah came through the people of Israel. He identified the Messiah as Jesus. The Messiah came to the Jews but they did not recognize Him, condemned Him and put Him to death, God raised Him from the dead. He pointed out how the Old Testament prophecies were fulfilled through Him.Application: We can learn from Paul! He took every opportunity he had to spread the Gospel. He knew the Word of God because he studied it and knew how to relate it to the people around him whether they were the religious Jews or the God-fearing Greeks.
Verse to meditate on: 38"Therefore, my brothers, I want you to know that through Jesus the forgiveness of sins is proclaimed to you. 39Through him everyone who believes is justified from everything you could not be justified from by the law of Moses.
